THE BOAT
Catalina Yachts are hand-crafted in the United States, using race tested designs tempered with lavish accommodations. The C380 series is designed to incorporate performance, spaciousness and other features sought by experienced sailors. The fiberglass hull is approximately 39 1/2 feet long and almost 13 feet wide; with the addition of the bow pulpit, anchor rollers, and stern seating, the boat is just over 40 feet in length. Many aspects of the 380, from the secure offshore capable rig, double spreader mast, inboard shroud positioning, and the 7 1/2 foot deep-draft keel, reflect a true high performance design, perfect for close-hauled – into the wind performance. Above deck she is pure performance, but below decks, you’ll find varnished teak interior bulkheads, cabinets and joinery, that speak of the craftsmanship that goes into making this yacht.
The key emphasis is space planning. The cabins and interior amenities are comparable to a traditional 45 foot offshore boat, with less tankage and deep storage — the emphasis of this design is on comfortable and swift coastal cruising. There are 4 offerings in the 380 Series: 380, 381, 387, and 390 all sharing the same 39′ 10″ hull with varying cockpit and cabin configurations. The C380 offers the conventional stern cockpit with one large aft stateroom, as opposed to two smaller rear cabins and/or a center cockpit.
Standard equipment includes: 42 HP Westerbeke fresh-water-cooled 4 cylinder diesel engine, electric anchor windlass, 3 burner propane stove and oven, hot/cold pressurized water, manual head with holding tank and macerator, head, shower and sink, cockpit shower, drop leaf cockpit table with drink cooler, automatic battery charger, full engine instrumentation, Ray Marine speed and depth instruments, two private staterooms with two berths each (centerline queen in master), convertible settees make three additional berths, fold down salon snack table. Extras include: over size sails, secondary battery system, matching navy-blue canvas, wheel cover, dodger (wind shield), and boom cover, feathering three blade cruising propeller (less drag), Schaeffer roller furling both main and jib, Dutchman boom brake, auxiliary anchor, integrated electronics: Ray Marine auto pilot, GPS, radar, wind system, depth finder, high powered VHF radio with masthead antenna, and safety and equipment package.
