Ansel Adams first photographic experiences were as a subject for his Dad’s turn of the century Kodak Bullseye box camera. One day, his father took the camera apart and showed Ansel how the lens woud project an image onto translucent paper.
He received his first camera as a gift from his father in 1914, when he was 12 years old . It was a used Kodak No. 1 box camera, as much as 10 years old at the time. His last camera was a very fine Leica single lens reflex 35mm, a very expensive camera.
