The Polaroid #500 film back, introduced in 1958, allowed the use of 4×5 instant sheet film in many brands of 4×5 view cameras. Ansel had a number of 4×5 cameras. he is shown here in the mid-1960s holding a #500 film back while adjusting his Sinar Norma view camera.
