Sinar Norma

Cameras of Ansel Adams

The Sinar Norma is a professional monorail camera system. Sinar used machined aluminium parts to make it lighter for use outside the studio.

Ansel is shown below using his Norma during the shooting of Fiat Lux, the project for which he was hired in the early 1960s, by Clark Kerr, the Chancellor of the University of California system. A book was produced in 1966 in celebration of the centennial of the university.
